A flat white by the lagoon

This is sample content. Replace it with a real dispatch from the cart whenever you like.

Plett in the morning has a particular quiet. The lagoon is still deciding whether to be silver or blue, the first dogs are already on Lookout, and the milk pitcher is the loudest thing I own.

JH Coffee is a mobile setup, which means the “shop” is wherever the day needs it to be: a market, a beach parking lot, a wedding that started too early for anyone’s blood pressure. The menu is short on purpose. A flat white. A cortado if you look like you mean it. Filter when the beans are feeling talkative.

People ask if I get tired of making the same drinks. I don’t, mostly. The drink is the same shape; the morning never is. One day the south-easter is trying to steal the takeaway lids. The next, a regular wants to tell me about their kid’s first trail race. Steam, listen, wipe the drip tray, do it again.

If you see the cart, come say hello. I’ll probably already have your order halfway poured. If you don’t take sugar, I will try to remember. If you do, I will try not to comment.

And if this post is still here, it means I haven’t written the real one yet. That’s fine. The kettle is patient.
