A short hello

About

I’m Hezzie Ponelat. I live in Plettenberg Bay, on the Garden Route, where the lagoon, the mountains, and a long trail tend to keep me busy.

I’m the lead designer at Plett Pixels, a web design agency, and at Flag Finder, where we’re building tools like StrideNotes. When I’m not at a desk, I’m usually on a trail.

Design

At Plett Pixels I make sites that load quickly, read clearly, and don’t shout. If a page can be simpler, it probably should be. At Flag Finder the same instinct applies to software: fewer clever tricks, more of the work actually getting done.

Trails

The Tsitsikamma Ultra is the kind of day that rearranges your sense of distance. The forest doesn’t care how clever your split times are, which is part of the charm. Races live on hobbies.

hezz.ie is a quiet notebook. Posts, a projects list, hobbies, coffee related stuff, an RSS feed, and a now page. No newsletter popup — a quiet signup lives on the home page and at the end of posts.
